Hedman (MOM) 16th January 08- Cressing were at home to Colchester Town tonight, hoping to go one better than in their previous meeting when they drew. However it proved to be a similar story. The pairs were shared 2-2. M. Cain & J. Mortimer started the night off, defeating P. Mcdermott & M. Gregory. However Cressing lost the next two pairs, A. Hedman (28.00) & S. Prow losing to C. Wiekamp (31.35) & P. Copeland and V. Clarke & S. Mortimer losing to L. Woods (180) (27.39) & M. Woodger. The final pair saw T. Franklin (28.10) & R. W-Lang who defeated J. Robinson (28.43) & A. Burmby. The singles started off slowly for Cressing with J. Mortimer losing 3-0 to an in form D. Britton (25.47). However Cressing pulled it straight back with R. W-Lang (24.08) who hit a 14 dart leg on his way to a 3-2 victory over M. Gregory. Third single of the night saw V. Clarke lose out to the extremely high scoring C. Wiekamp (24.64), who would have had a huge average had he hit doubles first time. The fourth game was another win for Cressing, as S. Mortimer won 3-0 against P. Copeland. S. Prow (25.01) then took on A. Burmby (180 x2) (25.62) in a great match, A. Burmby winning 3-1 with winning legs of 15, 23 & 16. Next to the oche was Al Hedman (174, MOM 27.05) who came out firing against P. Mcdermott, hitting a maximum in his first leg which he won in 16 darts, followed by a 15 darter in the second leg. He was on for a superb average, however he narrowly missed double 20 for a 151 checkout and another 15 dart leg. He then went on to lose this leg before claiming the final leg for a 3-1 victory. The score was now 5-5 with 2 singles left to play. T. Franklin (180x4) (26.29)was the first as he took on L. Woods (180) (25.74). This proved to be an extremly exciting game, L. Woods started the slightly stronger winning in 19 darts. However T. Franklin was certainly the stronger in the second leg as he was on the 9 darter after his first two throws, however he narrowly missed the 7th dart but went onto win the leg in 15 darts. He then pushed himself into a 2-1 lead claiming the third leg against the throw. However L. Woods turned on the style in the next leg hitting a maximum of his own and winning in 16 darts. The final saw T. Franklin hit his fourth 180 of the match and claim the win in 19 darts. A truly thrilling game to watch. The final game of the night would either win it for Cressing or Colchester Town could claim a draw. M. Cain took on J. Robinson (26.37) (180). J. Robinson hit a maximum on his way to winning 3-0 in 22, 15 & 20 darts. M. Cain had a few chances in the 1st and 3rd leg but couldn't quite find the double. 16th January 08- Cressing were at home to Colchester Town tonight, hoping to go one better than in their previous meeting when they drew. However it proved to be a similar story.
The pairs were shared 2-2. M. Cain & J. Mortimer started the night off, defeating P. Mcdermott & M. Gregory.
However Cressing lost the next two pairs, A. Hedman (28.00) & S. Prow losing to C. Wiekamp (31.35) & P. Copeland and V. Clarke & S. Mortimer losing to L. Woods (180) (27.39) & M. Woodger.
The final pair saw T. Franklin (28.10) & R. W-Lang who defeated J. Robinson (28.43) & A. Burmby.

The singles started off slowly for Cressing with J. Mortimer losing 3-0 to an in form D. Britton (25.47).
However Cressing pulled it straight back with R. W-Lang (24.08) who hit a 14 dart leg on his way to a 3-2 victory over M. Gregory.
Third single of the night saw V. Clarke lose out to the extremely high scoring C. Wiekamp (24.64), who would have had a huge average had he hit doubles first time.
The fourth game was another win for Cressing, as S. Mortimer won 3-0 against P. Copeland.
S. Prow (25.01) then took on A. Burmby (180 x2) (25.62) in a great match, A. Burmby winning 3-1 with winning legs of 15, 23 & 16.
Next to the oche was Al Hedman (174, MOM 27.05) who came out firing against P. Mcdermott, hitting a maximum in his first leg which he won in 16 darts, followed by a 15 darter in the second leg. He was on for a superb average, however he narrowly missed double 20 for a 151 checkout and another 15 dart leg. He then went on to lose this leg before claiming the final leg for a 3-1 victory.
The score was now 5-5 with 2 singles left to play. T. Franklin (180x4) (26.29)was the first as he took on L. Woods (180) (25.74). This proved to be an extremly exciting game, L. Woods started the slightly stronger winning in 19 darts. However T. Franklin was certainly the stronger in the second leg as he was on the 9 darter after his first two throws, however he narrowly missed the 7th dart but went onto win the leg in 15 darts. He then pushed himself into a 2-1 lead claiming the third leg against the throw. However L. Woods turned on the style in the next leg hitting a maximum of his own and winning in 16 darts. The final saw T. Franklin hit his fourth 180 of the match and claim the win in 19 darts. A truly thrilling game to watch.
The final game of the night would either win it for Cressing or Colchester Town could claim a draw. M. Cain took on J. Robinson (26.37) (180). J. Robinson hit a maximum on his way to winning 3-0 in 22, 15 & 20 darts. M. Cain had a few chances in the 1st and 3rd leg but couldn't quite find the double.

19th September 07- Cressing continued their undefeated run so far this season, as they drew 6-6 with Colchester Town. Cressing were without last weeks man of the match Steve Smith and Barry Gilbey. However they started strongly taking the first pair, R. Watson-Lang & S. Thorogood winning with a 25.67 combined average. However it soon turned sour as Cressing lost the next three pairs.

5th September 07- Cressing made a great start to the season as they defeated Chelmsford 7-5. Cressing only had a bare 8 as Al Hedman, Barry Gilbey & Scott Kinch were all missing, however newcomers S.Prow & S. Smith made their Cressing league debuts and they made the dream start by taking the first pair with a combined average of 25.67. Cressing then went on to win the next 3 pairs seeing them 4-0 up going into the singles. However this did not go quite so well, as Chelmsford pulled it back to 5-5 going into the last 2 games. Cressing knew they needed to win both to claim victory. New signing S. Prow stepped up first and looked confident hitting a 180 on his way to winning 3-1. This left R. W-Lang who defeated S. Whalley 3-0, including a 111 finish.

1st August 07- Cressing played a pre-season friendly tonight against Dunmow. It was played at Cressing. Cressing were missing many players including, A. Hedman, B. Gilbey & M.Cain. They only had 7 players and so Tim Franklin's brother Matt helped out in being the 8th. Despite having so many players missing Cressing still held Dunmow to a draw. 2nd May 07- Home to Harwich. This week both Cressing & Harwich were on a high following their previous performances. However it was Cressing that came out flying, M. Cain(180 & 34.65 average) & J. Mortimer defeating M. Smith & J. Elliott. Followed by R. W-Lang & S.Thorogood (25.00) defeating J.Robinson & K.Cook. However Harwich certainly fought back in the next pair where S. Lawrie (180) & P. Barton had a combined average of 33.37 in defeating T. Gardener & S.Mortimer, in just 30 darts! A superb performance from S. Lawrie who averaged a massive 42.73!!! The final pair saw T. Franklin (27.38) & B. Gilbey defeat G. Lord & A. Genery.
